Great idea! Go for it!
I have been running for the past 1 year, I have been having shin pain since I started but I did not pay attention to it, I have also been taking rest for the last 4,5 months or have been taking calcium pills or have been running 100 meters. running slow or 100m walking still I am having shin pain from india please suggest any solution
doesn't these just overwork the muscles even more? just ice and rest the muscle and give it time to recover.
These are ways to strengthen the muscles. But resting is key also if it’s really bad
You got it!
Thanks 🙏
Once in a life: Challenge Roth 2025 ;)
I’d love to do that one day!!
I just came back from IMLP, it was TOUGH...good choice on skipping that one 🙂
It really is! I love tough courses 😉 it was just wayyy too expensive for me
I did Ironman Canada 4 times 30 years ago. So sorry to hear it’s coming to an end. It was a fantastic race.
Wow! Long history. Excited to race it the last time
@@SimonShi Btw- how did your girlfriend do at Oregon 70.3? What was her time? How did she handle the rain?
Let’s goooo!!! So happy you decided to do this race! The bike course looks amazing. You are going to rock it.
Thanks 🙏
nice drone shot bro🔥
Thank you 😊
Hey Simon! I’ve been wanting to start bringing my training to the next level with a coach, are you taking new athletes currently? Would love to hear more about it
Yes I am! Go to my website thesimonshi . Com and there’s a coaching page Fill out the survey and let’s schedule a video chat!
@@SimonShi I did!
@@mojuy11 Awesome! What is your name?
I wish I could hear that 201 bpm heart 🫀🫀🫀🫀
I was volunteering there this year and I think I saw you as you were leaving
Thanks for volunteering!!!
So what's the conclusion? is it worth it?
If you’re a beginner and able to do some adjustments on your own, then yes it’s worth it
I don't understand this post, what is the best way?
Frenchmans quarter?
Yep 👍
Wow I want to get to this level I'm doing my first triathlon with my friends next week, though its unofficial,it's a step to a gold medal in the olympics
That’s awesome! Good luck 👍

Just responded to your other comment. DM me on instagram if you’re having trouble finding it
I watched many videos I'm going around Lake Tahoe it looks like there's a lot of cars in the roads and they don't have bike paths on some of those main roads😢 I'm going to check just to see if I can drive on the bike trails instead of going around the whole lake because it looks too dangerous for me cuz I'm a new biker.
Yeah some tights were tight and we definitely got yelled at
Dude thank u. Screw all these videos on YT that give us a 10 minute intro
On treadmill
I got mine to 211
Nice progress Simon!
Thanks 👍
awesome setup! go hokies 🦃
Thanks! Go Hokies!
I hit leg workout whenever my shin pain in running
How can I get to know that it's Just a shin pain or there's something wrong with my shin bone
I can’t really tell that. Sorry
How long do u hold the wall sits
Depending on how strong you are. 15 seconds is a start. I do 30 seconds at least
In your video you can clearly see the bottom of rocks and it looks pretty shallow. How much of the swim is like that? And was that right at the beginning oe closer to the island?
Sorry. Just seeing this week after the race Just some parts are shallow If you stay to the right before the island, you’ll run into some shallow waters based on other people’s experience
Bro your training videos are sick, but what are you doing with Red Bull, Pop Tarts, and Mott’s?! Why not Maurtens, Clif Protein builder, or maybe Gu gels. I love your content and you’re super inspiring by the way. Just curious?!
I used to run a 3:58 mile back in 2013, it definetly felt like I had to run harder than this haha
This is so nice to see, I started running in April and had to take a few weeks off because my shin splints just seemed to be getting worse and worse. Learning more now about how to avoid them, but how to heal them is definitely good to know for the inevitable future lol.
I live in Cypress, Tx. I wish I could have been there to watch!
Let’s go! I plan to do it next year 👍
Underrated topic
Awesome to see a fellow Hokie doing great things. Keep going mate!
Thanks! Will do!
Not one video of you swimming in the ocean…. you should try it
I have swam in ocean! Including 70.3 Oceanside race earlier this year 🌊
I’ve had posterior shin splints for the longest time and it feels as if my bone is slightly swollen on that area. Nothing has been working.
Why is the upper end pace the conclusion?
So it’ll make my race pace feel easier… hopefully
Roughly, how long does a person have to run to get a v02 max of 60?? Roughly.??
Depends on your athletic background and how much you are training
I'll be there! So, left of the Island then make your way to the center beyond, spot a lone tree, right turn to swim out. Do most people break 20 minutes on the swim or is that just because you're a super fast swimmer?
Yep! Good luck out there! The current was fast that day. It tends to slow down a bit in July but still, slow swimmers will literally be going fast and have a swim PR! I swam 16:10 last year I think.
How often do people get shin splints
How do you afford to be a pro triathlete? Are you working a regular job in addition to training? Would make for an interesting video.
I’ve been a Physical Therapist for 8 years. Used to run my own clinic and now I’m an independent contractor. I’ve coached on the side the last 10 years. Pretty similar situation to most age groupers
The main thing for me is to get sponsors. I picked up triathlon coaching and earn from the UA-cam channel. I'm also a swim coach. So technically I'm not a full-time pro triathlete. I still need to hustle to make ends meet.
What garmin do you use? Thank You
Garmin FR 945
@@SimonShi thank you bro
Good luck, go fast!
Thanks!
Now calfs please
Thanks for taking us along, Simon!
Thank you! Excited for Evan!! :)

Would you say these could be used as a prevention method as well?
Of course!!
Spectacularly amazing my guy amazing advertisement promotion for two major companies
